A 4-Year Review: My Experience with the MOFT Smartphone Stand
I have been a long-time user of the “MOFT Smartphone Stand” from MOFT, and even now, about four years after purchasing it, I use it almost every day.
The text below is the shipment screen from when I purchased the “MOFT Smartphone Stand”, and it shows that it has been about 4 years since the purchase. At that time, I was living in Singapore, so I purchased it from a major Singaporean shopping site.
I think it’s unlikely that there is anyone who has proven its durability by using it every day for four years as I have continued to do so.
As expected, the surface does show signs of use, but despite being heavily used, it still functions well enough. Therefore, I am convinced that MOFT is a reliable brand.
According to the official MOFT website, they are currently using an even more durable vegan leather called “MOVAS,” so the current products should be even more durable than the “MOFT Smartphone Stand” that I have been using.

Initially, I looked up the features of the “MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Wallet” on the official website.

In this article, I tried using it while confirming the usage methods found on the official website.
MOFT’s Commitment: Surprisingly Sophisticated Packaging
The “MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Wallet” has arrived. First, I was amazed by the stylish and highly creative packaging. The outer box is transparent, allowing the “MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Wallet” to be visible.
I got the “JOURNAL STANDARD FURNITURE” collaboration color, which seems to be exclusive to Japan for now.
On the back of the outer box, there was a description of the “MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Wallet” illustrated.
You notice a tab sticking out under the outer box that says “PULL ME!”
When I pulled it, a card appeared with illustrations describing the features of the “MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Wallet” I was surprised because I had never seen a package with such ingenuity!
From the elaborate construction of the packaging, I could confirm the high quality of the actual product.
Let’s open the outer box right away.
I laid out all the items included.
From the left, the MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Wallet main unit, a tablet-shaped instruction manual, and an iron ring.
The Iron Ring is a magnetic ring designed to allow the use of the “MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Wallet” even with models that are not compatible with MagSafe.
There were instructions on how to apply it, illustrated on the back of the outer box.
Detailed Review: MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Wallet in Action
Let’s take a closer look at the “MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Wallet” itself.
The surface has a magnetic side with the “MOFT” logo on it, and the back is a simple side with nothing written on it.
Let’s open up the “MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Wallet.” The hinge part has a perfect stiffness and is solidly built. Upon investigation, it appears that a “manganese steel hinge rotation design” has been adopted, suggesting it is likely durable.
The logos of “MOFT” and “JOURNAL STANDARD FURNITURE” are subtly embossed. (However, the collaboration with “JOURNAL STANDARD FURNITURE” appears to be exclusive to Japan.)
I tried using the floating mode. Since it has a simple structure, it can be easily transformed.
Next, I tried putting it in stand mode. The hinges are sturdy, so it is very stable.
Hands-On with the MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Wallet
I immediately attached it to my iPhone (iPhone 15 Pro Max) and tried using it.
Floating Mode: Achieve a Maximum Height of 20 cm
This is the “floating mode” that allows you to set up your smartphone at a maximum height of 20 cm.
When used on a desk, the smartphone is at eye level, allowing you to view it with good posture. I attached the smartphone in a vertical (portrait) orientation.
The strong magnet ensures a firm grip, keeping your phone securely in place without any movement.
Of course, it can also be installed horizontally (landscape). It is ideal for video streaming on YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, etc.
In “floating Mode,” the legs will be shaped like the ones shown in the photo below. It is clear that it is very stable, like a triangular truss structure.
In “Tri-Pod Mode,” you can set the angle freely. According to the explanation, it can be adjusted within a range from a 10° forward tilt to a 45° backward tilt.
I found it extremely convenient to adjust the angle perfectly based on the desk height when making videos or video calls.
It can also be set to an angle that looks down from above. In particular, when using video calls or taking selfies, looking down from above seems to have the effect of making your chin look neat and your face appear slimmer.
By angling it, you can take photos or videos of documents placed on your desk. It seems like it could be used for both work and hobbies in an all-around way.
Stand Mode: Perfect Stability for Work and Study
Next is the “Stand Mode,” where you use the “MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Wallet” in its folded state. Since it has a simple shape, it seems useful for when you want to prop up your smartphone compactly.
This is also compatible with vertical (portrait) and horizontal (landscape) orientations.
The ‘floating mode’ also allows you to freely adjust the angle continuously without any steps. It’s very convenient because you can use it at any angle you like.
I use my smartphone to study, and it’s extremely efficient when I use it at an angle like the one shown in the photo below. I like it because it’s easy to operate and increases efficiency.
Selfie Mode: Capture Photos and Videos from Any Angle
By further adjusting the angle in “Stand Mode,” you can use your smartphone in hand as a selfie mode.
The “MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Wallet” goes beyond the realm of just being a stand, offering various uses depending on your creativity.
NFC-Compatible Card Storage: Enhancing Convenience
As initially explained, the “MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Wallet” is a product that, based on the “Snap Phone Tripod Stand”, includes an added card storage space compatible with NFC.
There was also an explanation about the newly established card storage space.
The note says, “The card can store up to a maximum of 2 cards.”
I tried storing my credit cards that I have on hand.
Of course, it fit perfectly in storage. Since it is compatible with NFC, you can go through ticket gates and make payments without removing the card from storage.
Perfect for Cafes and On-the-Go: The MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Wallet
I have also frequently used the ‘MOFT Smartphone Stand’ that I had been using before, especially when studying or watching videos in cafes.
This time, I thought that the “MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Wallet” would be perfect for use in places like cafes, so I decided to take it out and try using it.
In “floating Mode,” when placed on a desk, the smartphone screen is at just the right height close to eye level, making it perfect for watching videos in a cafe!
In “Stand Mode,” it was perfect for browsing on the smartphone, studying, or working.
I was already quite satisfied with the “MOFT Smartphone Stand” I had been using, so I’m excited about the boost in work efficiency I anticipate from upgrading to the “MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Wallet”!
