All photos in this article, unless otherwise specified, were personally taken by me during my visit. I hope you enjoy these authentic and original captures!

During my trip to Okinawa, I had the chance to stay at “OMO5 Okinawa Naha.” Here’s a detailed review of my experience.

Located between the Yui Rail “Kencho-mae Station” and “Miebashi Station” in Naha City, “OMO5 Okinawa Naha” is just a short walk from the famous Kokusai Street, making it a convenient base for sightseeing.

After staying at “OMO5 Okinawa Naha,” these three aspects stood out to me:

  1. Convenient location in the heart of Naha City
  2. Unique tatami-matted guest rooms
  3. Creative and engaging shared spaces

In this review, I’ll highlight the hotel’s ambiance through a collection of photos.

Convenient Location Near Kencho-mae and Miebashi Stations

“OMO5 Okinawa Naha” is located just a 6-minute walk from Kencho-mae Station and 8 minutes from Miebashi Station on the Yui Rail in Naha City, Okinawa. It’s also within a 10-minute walking distance to Kokusai Street, offering a convenient location for sightseeing.

The hotel is housed in an impressive 16-story building. Its modern exterior design is accentuated by the “OMO5” logo at the top. Having a 7-Eleven right next door is also a great convenience.

Exploring the Unique Double Room Experience

This time, I stayed in a “Double Room.”

What surprised me upon entering the room was the “no shoes indoors” rule. While unusual for a hotel, it was very comfortable, especially for Japanese guests.

Upon entering the room, I found the washbasin and other wet areas near the entrance.

Walking further in, there’s the bedroom area.

The floor is covered with tatami mats, and the standout feature is the large sofa area by the window.

The bed was a 160cm-wide double bed.

This is the window-side sofa space, called the “Relaxing Sofa.”

Instead of a standard desk found in most hotels, this “Relaxing Sofa” is designed for lounging, working, or dining.

The “Relaxing Sofa” was so comfortable that it made working very efficient.

There is a TV opposite the bed. Although the screen size was small, it was convenient as it allowed HDMI connection.

Hotel information pamphlets were provided. The Hoshino Resorts booklet on the left was free to take home.

The washbasin was located in a space partitioned by a shelf near the entrance.

The shelf held an electric kettle and cups.

Inside the bottom cabinet of the shelf, there was a safe and a refrigerator.

Next to the washbasin, towels, a hairdryer, a shoehorn, and a flashlight were hung.

Hangers were provided next to the entrance.

Space-saving designs were evident, with necessary items efficiently arranged along the wall.

The bathroom only had a shower, with stylish yellow tiles.

The shampoo and body soap were provided in refillable bottles.

The toilet was clean and equipped with a bidet feature.

This is the floor plan of the 15th floor, where I stayed. My room faced the road, offering a great open view.

Stunning Views from the Guest Room

From the “Relaxing Sofa” by the window, I could enjoy a view of Naha City. With no tall buildings nearby, the view stretched far.

The monorail passing nearby was also clearly visible.

Detailed Insights into the Room Design and Amenities

Let’s take a closer look at the details of the room.

The provided pamphlet included detailed explanations about the hotel.

There was a round light placed on the shelf.

Even the design of the switches showed attention to detail.

An air purifier was also provided.

These are glasses numbered “1” and “2.”

The hairdryer was from the brand “ione.” Despite its small size, it provided sufficient airflow.

A flashlight was also provided.

The towels were neatly organized in OMO-branded covers.

These are the hangers by the entrance.

The book titled “108 Years of Hoshino Resorts” was free to take home.

The entrance door featured a double-tap locking system.

The tatami flooring was very comfortable for bare feet.

The flooring in the wet areas was covered with dark gray tiles.

Discovering the First Floor (Lobby and OMO Café)

This is the exterior of “OMO5 Okinawa Naha.” A closer look reveals that the sunshade blocks are shaped like “OMO,” showcasing thoughtful design.

The entrance features a bronze “OMO5” sculpture.

The entrance lobby is a spacious area with a high atrium.

A staircase with glass railings leads up to the second floor.

Right in front of the entrance, there were tables and counters suitable for chatting or working.

Immediately to the left of the entrance was a lounge called the ‘Go-KINJO Map.’ ‘Go-KINJO’ translates to ‘neighborhood’ in Japanese.

True to its name, the “Go-KINJO Map” featured a large wall map with hand-drawn illustrations of nearby spots.

The sofas provided a comfortable place to relax.

Straight ahead from the entrance, there is the check-in counter.

Guests scan their QR code issued during booking to issue their own room key card.

Behind the check-in counter, there is a café restaurant called “OMO Café.”

Drinks and light snacks were available for purchase.

A shelf next to the check-in counter displayed Hoshino Resorts merchandise for sale.

This is the elevator hall.

In the elevator hall, there is a shelf with various amenities.

Room wear was available.

Exploring the Second Floor (Library and Shared Facilities)

I also visited the library on the second floor.

The library was very spacious, featuring various types of sofas and tables.

The bookshelves displayed books and artwork.

Next to the library, there was a laundry room and lockers.

The lockers were free to use and could be operated via a tablet, making them very convenient.

The laundry room was equipped with vending machines, an ice maker, and washer-dryer units.

Around the atrium from the first floor, there were also standing counters for use.

Here’s a view of the first-floor lobby as seen from the second floor.

Attention to detail was evident in the furniture and interior design.

A Walk Through the Hallways and High Floors

After completing check-in, I headed to my room. I was fortunate to stay on the high-floor 15th level this time.

This is the elevator hall on the guest room floor.

Slim kokeshi dolls were displayed as decorations.

The hallway had dim lighting, creating a calming ambiance.

Room Rates: What to Expect for Your Stay

・Hotel rates vary significantly depending on the season or day of the week. A shift of just one day can result in a price difference of several thousand yen.

・The rate for my stay at “OMO5 Okinawa Naha” was approximately 8,000 yen per night, including tax. Hotel prices in Japan have been soaring recently, so they are likely even higher now.

“OMO5 Okinawa Naha” is conveniently located in central Naha City, making it an excellent base for sightseeing.

As part of the Hoshino Resorts group, the hotel offers many unique features that go beyond an ordinary business hotel. Highlights included the tatami-floored rooms, the large lounging sofa by the window, and the well-equipped library, all of which made for a comfortable stay.

The “OMO” series by Hoshino Resorts is available in other locations beyond Okinawa, and I’m eager to stay at other OMO hotels in the future.
